Charlie Sounds plays upbeat dance music based on rhythms from Africa and the Caribbean. Their broad range of music includes original Afro-Pop and Afro-Cuban music and popular Highlife Music from Ghana.Kofi Mawuko
A native of Ghana, West Africa, Mawuku began learning traditional rhythms on Ga, Ashanti and Ewe drums at the age of 10. It was clear from an early age that he possessed a natural talent for singing, dancing and playing various musical instruments. Mawuko has traveled extensively throughout the world as lead dancer and master drummer with the Ghana based Kyirem Cultural Troupe. Mawuko has spent the last few decades sharing his amazing skills through teaching, composing and performing.
